The H2GEN Project – Powered by Innovation
As a testament to our commitment to sustainable innovation, Cygnas was selected as a recipient of the Scottish Government’s Hydrogen Innovation Scheme, part of the £10 million Emerging Energy Technologies Fund. View scheme details →
Our awarded project, H2GEN, is a novel, scalable hydrogen fuel cell-based energy storage solution designed to:
- Eliminate the use of lead-acid batteries in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems within public buildings
- Mitigate blackouts caused by grid supply interruptions
- Store renewable energy efficiently, enabling use or grid export during peak demand
Our team completed a pre-FEED study using MATLAB Simscape to model and simulate environmental and operational conditions. This research is laying the groundwork for future clean energy infrastructure that is both modular and market-ready.
